About LMCT

The LMCT is a jointly administered labor management cooperation trust formed through a partnership between sheet metal workers, Local 105 and So-Cal Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning contractors representing the HVAC, General/Architectural, Kitchen, Industrial and Shop Manufacturing Industries.

Purposes of the Southern California Sheet Metal Industry Labor-Management Cooperation Trust between SMART Local 105 and SMACNA Southern California

Purposes of the Trust

  1. To improve communication between Management and Labor;
  2. To provide workers and employers with opportunities to study and explore new and innovative joint approaches to achieving organizational effectiveness;
  3. To assist workers and employers in solving problems of mutual concern not susceptible to resolution within the collective bargaining process;
  4. To study and explore ways of eliminating potential problems that reduce the competitiveness and inhibit the economic development of the construction industry;
  5. To enhance the involvement of workers making decisions that affect their working lives;
  6. To expand and improve working relationships between workers and managers;
  7. To improve participation of workers and managers in the process of planning and permitting for construction projects;
  8. To promote and assist participation by workers and managers in public decisions which will affect a substantial group of the construction industry consistent which a balance of economic, environmental and other public considerations;
  9. To improve public, consumer and construction user awareness of the benefits of using organized union contractors and workers; and
  10. To survey and enhance construction user and general public opinion regarding organized union construction.
